Bertha got her neck broke...

Those of you who know me, know I name my guitars- all 15 of them.

I used to have well over 200, but my girlfriend made me "break up" with them. The ones I have now are the ones I have managed to accumulate since we parted the ways.

And one of my favourites has to be Bertha, or "bertie" to her many friends.

I picked her up at a secondhand store in North Melbourne, and knew at first sight it was love. She is a semi-acoustic jazz guitar, the only non solidbody I own. She's very special.

But Bertha had a horrible accident this afternoon, as she was knocked off her stand by an errant dobermann pinscher. Her neck is broken right through to the fretboard.

She was rushed immediately to knifey's Guitar Hospital in Parkville, and is in a satisfactory condition.
She is currently braced up and filled with emergency epoxy resin, and is resting comfortably.
"She's gonna pull through" said Doctor knifey this evening.
"She's a tough old bird...once we get her back up on her feet, she'll be as good as the day she was born".

The following pictures may be disturning to some viewers.
They depict horrific neck injuries, and the unorthodox use of old necks and fretboards as braces.

Any messages of support can be left for the knifey family in the comment section that follows this post.
knifey would like to thank all his friends and family for their support in this very upsetting time.

This is knifey, from 'the internet'.

Knifey, I'm so sorry.

If there's anything I can do to help...*

*Insert Carry On-esque double entendre here.
